Atlanta, GA - Authorites have closed down the popular Underground Atlanta shopping center in response to what they are dubbing a "minor incident" within the center. Five Points Station, the central Atlanta transportation hub which is attached to the center, has still open at last report.
At 11:45 AM today, shoppers arriving at the center were barred from entrance by police, citing an unspecified minor incident at the shopping center. While no shoppers were allowed into the center, there have been no reports of anyone inside at the time leaving.
"At this time," said Atlanta police spokesman Stewart Barrow, "We can only report that there is a minor incident which we feel could pose a hazard to shoppers. We are in the process of resolving it and hope to have the center open for business again in a few hours."
Despite the repeated references to a minor incident in the shopping center, many witnesses on the scene report at least a dozen Atlanta Police cruisers now surround the complex, including all open air exit points. There are also unconfirmed reports of at least one S.W.A.T. vehicle at the location as well.
"I ain't heard nothing strange, until they got there," said Atlanta resident Ricky Orton. "Couldn't hear an explosion or anything. But it reminds me of Albany," he continued, referring to the meta incident four years ago.
Calls to the National Meta Registry in Washington D.C. reported that all known Metas are currently accounted for.
